Põltsamaa is one of Estonia's most storied and iconic food brands, with roots dating back to 1920 when its first production facilities were established in the historic town of Põltsamaa. The brand is deeply ingrained in Estonian culinary culture, particularly famous for its canned vegetables, juices, and soups. Most of its production continues to take place at the historic Põltsamaa factory, utilizing local agricultural produce.

Today, the brand belongs to Orkla Eesti AS, a subsidiary of the Norwegian conglomerate Orkla ASA. The transformation of the brand over the decades has seen it evolve from a Soviet-era horticultural combine into a modern, high-quality food producer. Despite the international ownership by Orkla, the manufacturing remains primarily focused in Estonia to maintain regional flavor profiles and support local supply chains.
