The brand was initially licensed to Stokely-Van Camp before being acquired by the Quaker Oats Company in 1983. In 2001, PepsiCo acquired Quaker Oats, bringing Gatorade into its massive international portfolio. Today, Gatorade is manufactured in multiple countries around the world to serve local markets, often through regional bottling partners such as Gepp in Mexico or various PepsiCo-owned facilities globally.
