Meßmer Klassik Black Tea

Meßmer is one of Germany's most prestigious tea brands, with a history dating back to 1852 when Eduard Meßmer opened a specialty tea shop in Baden-Baden. The brand became famous as a purveyor to the royal court and pioneered the widespread use of tea bags in the German market.

Today, Meßmer is a flagship brand of the Ostfriesische Tee Gesellschaft (OTG), based in Seevetal near Hamburg. While the raw tea leaves are sourced from international tea-growing regions such as India and Sri Lanka, the final blending, flavoring, and packaging occur at modern production facilities in Germany. The brand is currently owned by the Laurens Spethmann Holding (LSH), a long-standing family-owned enterprise that oversees several major European tea and food labels.
