Palmolive soap and personal care

Palmolive is a historic American brand that traces its origins back to 1864 when Burdette Jay Johnson founded the B.J. Johnson Soap Co. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1898, the company introduced a floating soap bar made of palm and olive oils, which became the brand's namesake and achieved worldwide success by the early 20th century.

Following a series of strategic mergers, including a 1926 union with the Peet Brothers Soap Company and a blockbuster 1928 merger with the Colgate Company, the brand became part of the Colgate-Palmolive-Peet Company. In 1953, the name was simplified to the Colgate-Palmolive Company. Today, Palmolive is a global powerhouse in the personal care and home care sectors, with production facilities distributed across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America to serve over 200 countries.
