General Electric (GE) is one of the most iconic industrial names in global history. Founded in the late 19th century by Thomas Edison and others, the brand evolved from an electrical powerhouse into a massive conglomerate covering aviation, power, healthcare, and home appliances. Due to its historical scale, GE products are manufactured in dozens of countries, including the United States, China, Mexico, and various European nations, depending on the specific product division.

In recent years, General Electric underwent a massive restructuring. The home appliances division was sold to Haier, a Chinese multinational, which continues to use the GE brand under license. By 2024, the original GE company split into three independent entities: GE Aerospace (aviation), GE Vernova (energy), and GE HealthCare. Each now operates as a separate publicly traded company, marking the end of the traditional GE conglomerate structure while maintaining the legacy brand name across several distinct corporate owners.
