Royal Club is a classic Dutch brand founded in 1939, originally established by the Taminiau family in Elst. It became famous for its distinct range of soft drinks, including tonic water, ginger ale, and its signature blackcurrant soda, known as Cassis. The brand marketed itself as an adult soft drink alternative with a slightly more sophisticated profile than standard lemonades.
In 1969, the brand was acquired by Heineken, but it was later sold to the Dutch soft drink giant Vrumona. Since 2024, the parent company Vrumona has been owned by the Danish beverage group Royal Unibrew. The manufacturing continues to be primarily based in Bunnik, the Netherlands, maintaining its strong Dutch heritage while being part of a larger European beverage portfolio.
