Montezuma's Absolute Black 100% Cocoa Chocolate

Montezuma’s Chocolate is a British artisanal chocolatier known for its high-quality ingredients and bold flavors. The brand was founded in 2000 by Helen and Simon Pattinson after a trip to South America inspired them to bring luxury chocolate manufacturing back to the UK. The Absolute Black range shown in the image is one of their flagship products, celebrated for containing 100% cocoa with no sugar or dairy.

While the cocoa beans are sourced from plantations overseas (predominantly in Africa and South America), the actual chocolate production and packaging take place at their factory in Birdham, West Sussex, UK. Following a period of ownership by private equity firm Inverleith LLP starting in 2018, the company was acquired by Paramount Retail Group in 2023, ensuring that the brand remains under British corporate ownership as it continues to expand its retail and online presence.
