Rama spread

Rama is a well-known brand of margarine and vegetable-based spreads that has a long history in Europe, particularly in Germany where it was first introduced. Originally part of the Unilever portfolio, the brand has undergone significant changes in ownership and product formulation in recent years, shifting towards more plant-based recipes.

In 2018, Unilever sold its global spreads business to Upfield, an investment group owned by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR). Under Upfield's management, the brand has focused on sustainability and vegan-friendly alternatives. While the brand is deeply rooted in German consumer culture, its production is distributed across several European facilities to serve local markets efficiently.
