Sarotti is a historic German chocolate brand with a rich heritage dating back to 1852. Its origins are traced to the Sarotti-Mocca-Haus, a small confectioner in Berlin founded by Hugo Hoffmann. The brand became widely known for its iconic 'Sarotti-Mohr' mascot, which was a central part of its marketing for nearly a century before being modernized into a 'magic magician' figure in the early 2000s.
Throughout the 20th century, the brand underwent several ownership changes. It was notably acquired by the Swiss food giant Nestlé in the 1920s. However, in 1998, the Stollwerck company purchased the brand, which in turn was later acquired by the Belgian manufacturer Baronie in 2011. Today, Sarotti remains a staple of German confectionery culture, primarily manufactured in Germany under the stewardship of the Baronie Group.
