Haribo Goldbears (Guldnallar)

Haribo, the world-famous confectionery brand, was founded in Bonn, Germany, in 1920 by Hans Riegel. The name is an acronym for Hans Riegel Bonn. The brand is most iconic for creating the first gummy bears, known as 'Dancing Bears' in 1922, which later evolved into the 'Goldbears' we know today.

Haribo remains a family-owned business, controlled by the Riegel family. While the global headquarters are located in Grafschaft, Germany, the company operates production facilities in several countries including Germany, Denmark, France, and the UK. For the Swedish and Nordic markets, Haribo products are often manufactured at their facility in Faxe, Denmark, or in their German plants.
