Em-eukal is a premium brand of cough drops and throat lozenges that originated in Germany. The brand's history dates back to 1923 when the pharmacist Dr. Carl Soldan developed the first recipes. The brand name 'Em-eukal' is derived from its two main ingredients: Menthol and Eukalyptus (Eucalyptus), which were known for their soothing properties for the throat.

Today, the brand is still owned by the family-run company Dr. C. SOLDAN GmbH, based in Adelsdorf, Bavaria. The manufacturing process takes place primarily in Germany, maintaining strict quality standards that have characterized the brand for over a century. A unique feature of Em-eukal sweets is the 'Fahne' (flag), a signature paper tail on the wrapper designed by Dr. Soldan to ensure hygienic handling by coal miners and workers.
