American Spirit rolling tobacco

Natural American Spirit is a heritage-focused tobacco brand founded in Santa Fe, New Mexico, known for its marketing of high-quality, additive-free tobacco. Originally established by the Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company in 1982, the brand became a global powerhouse in the roll-your-own and premium cigarette segments.

In 2016, a major international acquisition took place where British American Tobacco (BAT) purchased the rights to sell American Spirit products outside of the United States from Reynolds American. In the European market, particularly Spain, the tobacco is typically manufactured in Germany by BAT subsidiaries to serve the EU market, while the domestic US business remains under the ownership of Reynolds American (a subsidiary of BAT since 2017). The brand is characterized by its iconic Native American chieftain logo and its commitment to environmentally conscious processing.
