Artiach Filipinos milk chocolate biscuits

Filipinos is a popular brand of ring-shaped biscuits coated in chocolate. Despite the name, they are not from the Philippines but have a historical connection to the Spanish colonial past when they were named after the people of the Philippines. The brand was originally created by the Spanish biscuit company Artiach, founded in Bilbao in 1907.

Today, the brand is manufactured in Spain, primarily at the Artiach factory in Orozkio, Biscay. Over the decades, ownership of the brand has changed hands multiple times, moving from Nabisco to United Biscuits, and then to Panrico. Since 2015, the brand has been under the ownership of Adam Foods, a major Spanish food group that acquired the biscuit business of Nutrexpa. The product is widely exported across Europe, including the Nordic markets like Sweden.
