Blend-a-dent is one of the most recognized names in dental hygiene, specifically catering to those who use dentures. The brand's history is deeply rooted in German pharmacy and oral health research. It was originally developed as part of the Blendax company, which was founded in Mainz, Germany, in 1932. Blendax became famous for developing the first toothpaste available in a tube in Germany and later for the specialized formula of Blend-a-dent adhesive cream.

In the late 1980s, the brand and its parent company were acquired by the American consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble (P&G). Since then, P&G has integrated Blend-a-dent into its global oral care portfolio alongside other major brands like Oral-B and Crest. Today, while the product is sold globally—often under the name Fixodent in the United States—the Blend-a-dent branding remains the standard in the German and European markets. Manufacturing continues to have a strong presence in Germany, specifically at the Gross-Gerau site, which serves as a major hub for P&G's dental care production.
