Appelsientje is a iconic Dutch juice and fruit beverage brand that has been a staple in households since its foundation in 1973. Originally created by the Riedel company, it gained fame for being one of the first brands to offer high-quality fruit juices in convenient cardboard packaging. The brand is known for its distinctive 'A' logo and its slogan 'het beste onder de zon' (the best under the sun).

The product is primarily manufactured in the Netherlands at the Riedel production facilities in Ede. For many years, Riedel was part of the dairy cooperative FrieslandCampina. However, in 2017, the brand was acquired by the investment firm Standard Investment, which now operates Riedel as an independent company. This move transitioned the brand from a large dairy cooperative to a private equity ownership structure aimed at revitalizing the brand's market position. Today, Appelsientje continues to focus on natural ingredients and sustainable packaging, as evidenced by its use of plant-based materials and FSC-certified cartons.
