Denon is a historic Japanese electronics brand with roots dating back to 1910, originally founded as part of the Nippon Chikuonki Shokai (Japan Recorders Corporation). Over the decades, Denon became a pioneer in digital audio technology and high-fidelity home cinema equipment.
While the brand originated in Japan and maintains its engineering heritage there, most of its consumer-grade entry-level and mid-range products, such as the PMA-600NE amplifier, are manufactured in Vietnam. The brand is currently owned by Masimo Corporation, an American medical technology company that acquired Sound United (the previous parent company of Denon and Marantz) in 2022 to expand into the consumer audio and wearable technology markets.
