Beck's is one of Germany's most famous international beer brands, known for its distinctive green bottle and silver label featuring the key of Bremen. Founded in 1873 in Bremen, Germany, by Ludder Rutenberg, Heinrich Schosmüller, and Thomas May, the brewery became quickly recognized for its quality pilsner.
Today, Beck's is no longer a family-owned German enterprise. In 2002, the company was acquired by Interbrew, which later merged to become part of Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev). While the brand maintains its headquarters and primary brewing operations in Bremen to uphold the German Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot), it is also brewed under license in various countries including the United States, Australia, and Italy to serve global markets more efficiently.
