Gigaset is a historic brand specializing in communication technology, best known for its DECT cordless phones and more recently for smartphones and smart home systems. The brand has deep roots in German engineering, having originated as a product line under the Siemens umbrella.

Today, Gigaset maintains its commitment to local production, operating its primary manufacturing facility in Bocholt, Germany, where it produces a significant portion of its cordless phone lineup. However, certain product segments such as smartphones and specific electronic components are manufactured through global supply chains, primarily in China.

In early 2024, following insolvency proceedings, the Gigaset business was acquired by VTech Holdings Limited, a global leader in electronic learning products and telecommunication equipment. This transition has secured the brand's future while placing it under the ownership of a Hong Kong-based multinational corporation.
