Lurpak is an iconic brand of Danish butter, recognized globally for its silver foil packaging and distinctive 'Lur' horn logo. The brand was established in 1901 as a registered trademark to ensure the quality and authenticity of Danish butter exported abroad. To this day, the 'Lurmark' indicates that the product is made from 100% fresh Danish cow's milk from cows that graze on Danish pastures.

The brand is owned by the Danish Dairy Board, but it is licensed to and primarily produced by Arla Foods, a major European dairy cooperative. Manufacturing is concentrated in Denmark, specifically at Holstebro Dairy, where the butter is produced and packaged for distribution to over 75 countries. The ownership remains rooted in the cooperative structure, belonging to the thousands of dairy farmers across Denmark and Northern Europe who own Arla Foods.
