Jabra is a globally recognized brand specializing in audio equipment and video conferencing solutions. Founded in the United States in 1983, the brand was a pioneer in wireless communication, developing some of the world's first Bluetooth headsets. Its early innovations laid the groundwork for modern hands-free communication technology in both professional and consumer spaces.
In 2000, Jabra was acquired by the GN Group (Great Nordic), a Danish industrial powerhouse with a history dating back to 1869. Since the acquisition, Jabra has become the flagship consumer and enterprise brand for GN Audio. While the engineering and design are primarily handled in Denmark and the US, most manufacturing takes place in China to leverage large-scale production capabilities.
As of today, Jabra remains a core part of GN Store Nord A/S, which is listed on the Nasdaq Copenhagen. The brand continues to lead the market in office headsets, true wireless earbuds, and intelligent video solutions, benefiting from the parent company's deep expertise in medical-grade hearing aid technology through its sister company, ReSound.
