Quality Street is a historic and highly recognizable selection of individual tinned chocolates and toffees. Originally created by Mackintosh's in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England, in 1936, the brand was named after a play by J.M. Barrie. It was designed to provide high-quality chocolates at a price affordable to working-class families, utilizing revolutionary packaging technology for the time.
Today, while the brand maintains deep British roots with its primary production hub still located in Halifax, it is under the global ownership of Nestlé. Nestlé acquired the Rowntree Mackintosh company in 1988, integrating Quality Street into its vast international confectionery portfolio. The product is now distributed globally, though its manufacturing remains largely concentrated in the UK to serve its primary markets.
