Millet is a prestigious French brand specializing in outdoor equipment and apparel, particularly known for its high-performance mountaineering gear. Founded in 1921 by Marc Millet and his wife in Saint-Fons, France, the company gained legendary status in 1950 when it provided the backpacks for the first successful ascent of Annapurna.

Today, Millet is a key part of the Millet Mountain Group. While the brand's design and engineering heritage remain centered in the French Alps (Annecy), manufacturing takes place globally, with primary production facilities located in Vietnam, China, and various European countries. The brand emphasizes technical innovation and sustainability in its production processes.

Ownership of the brand has transitioned over the years; it was formerly part of the Lafuma Group and later the Swiss Calida Group. As of 2022, the brand returned to its roots when it was acquired by Jean-Pierre Millet, the grandson of the founder, in partnership with Inspiring Sport Capital, effectively bringing the brand back under French family stewardship.
