La Especial Peanuts (Maní La Especial)

La Especial is a prominent Colombian snack brand specializing in various types of nut products, most notably roasted and salted peanuts. The brand is deeply rooted in Colombia's agricultural and industrial heritage, particularly in the Antioquia region. Production is carried out at industrial facilities in Rionegro, Antioquia, which serves as a major hub for food manufacturing in the country.

The brand is owned by Compañía Nacional de Chocolates, a cornerstone of the Nutresa Group (Grupo Nutresa). Following a significant corporate restructuring and acquisition process in 2023 and 2024, Grupo Nutresa is now primarily owned by IHC Holding (International Holding Company) based in the United Arab Emirates, along with the Gilinski Group. This transition represents one of the largest shifts in ownership for a Colombian food conglomerate, moving from the GEA (Grupo Empresarial Antioqueño) alliance to international and private strategic investors. Despite the shift in ultimate corporate ownership, the brand remains a symbol of Colombian snack culture and maintains its regional manufacturing base.
