Tulipán Margarines and Spreads

Tulipán is a prominent brand of margarine and vegetable-based spreads with a deep history in the Spanish market. Launched in the mid-20th century, it became a household staple known for its versatility in cooking, baking, and as a bread spread. Originally introduced by Argenta, it later became a core part of the Unilever portfolio for several decades.

In 2018, Unilever completed the sale of its global spreads business to the private equity firm KKR. This transition led to the creation of Upfield, which now serves as the manufacturer and owner of the brand. Today, Tulipán is produced in various European facilities under the Upfield umbrella, maintaining its status as one of Spain's most recognizable food brands while focusing on plant-based nutrition and sustainability.
