Milram is the flagship consumer brand of the DMK Group (Deutsches Milchkontor), which stands as Germany's largest dairy cooperative. The brand's history is deeply rooted in Northern Germany, specifically tracing back to the 1950s. The name 'Milram' was acquired in 1954 through the purchase of a condensed milk factory in Osterholz-Scharmbeck by the cooperative that would eventually become Nordmilch, and later, DMK.
Today, Milram products are manufactured across several specialized facilities in Germany, such as those in Zeven (headquarters) and Erfurt, as well as in the Netherlands (notably in Hoogeveen for cheese production). The brand is highly recognized for its 'FrühlingsQuark' (spring curd) and an extensive range of cheeses and buttermilk drinks. In recent years, under the ownership of the DMK Group, the brand has expanded its portfolio to include vegan and plant-based alternatives like oat-based desserts and cocoa drinks to meet evolving consumer trends.
