Café Fortaleza is a historic Spanish coffee brand founded in Bilbao in 1885. The original company, Café Fortaleza, was established by the Freijanes family and has since become one of the most recognized coffee brands in Spain, particularly in the Basque Country.

The production and roasting of the coffee primarily take place in Spain, specifically at their facilities in Vitoria-Gasteiz. While the beans for this specific product are sourced from Colombia (as indicated by the '100% Arábica Colombia' labeling), the final processing and packaging are done domestically.

Currently, the brand is owned by the French group JDE Peet's (Jacobs Douwe Egberts), a global leader in the coffee and tea industry. JDE Peet's acquired the brand to strengthen its presence in the Spanish market, integrating legacy local brands into its vast international portfolio.
