Absolut Vodka is a globally recognized premium spirit brand with deep roots in Sweden. Originally introduced as 'Absolut Rent Brännvin' by Lars Olsson Smith in 1879, the brand was revolutionized and launched internationally in 1979.

The entire production process remains unified in the village of Åhus, Sweden. This 'One Source' philosophy means every bottle of Absolut Citron is produced using winter wheat and pure water from the same region, ensuring consistent quality and taste.

Historically owned by the Swedish state-run V&S Group, the brand was acquired in 2008 by the French spirits giant Pernod Ricard. This acquisition integrated Absolut into one of the world's largest portfolios of premium alcoholic beverages.
