STIGA table tennis and lawn equipment

STIGA is a historic brand with a dual identity. Founded in Sweden in 1934 by Stig Hjelmquist, it originally gained global fame for its table tennis equipment. Over the decades, the table tennis division transitioned into STIGA Sports AB, while the gardening division evolved into what is now known as STIGA S.p.A.

The lawn and garden division is headquartered in Italy and is a leader in manufacturing mowers and tractors, primarily producing in Italy, Slovakia, and Germany. Meanwhile, the table tennis division remains rooted in Eskilstuna, Sweden, though manufacturing for accessories and blades often involves specialized facilities in China and Sweden. Today, the gardening business is owned by the private equity firm Triton Partners, while the sports division operates independently following its separation from the garden machinery group.
