The brand was established in 1967 by Cavalier Amos Tonoli in Salò, in the province of Brescia. The water is known for its balanced oligomineral properties and low nitrate content, making it suitable for infant nutrition.

The product is manufactured and bottled at the company's high-tech '4.0' automated facility in Cunettone di Salò, Italy. This plant represents a significant technological investment that doubled the company's production capacity to approximately 400 million bottles per year.

Historically and currently, the brand remains under the ownership of the founding entity, Tavina S.p.A., an independent Italian company. The company manages various brands including Fonte Allegra and Fonte Linda, and is a significant exporter, sending more than half of its production to international markets such as Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
