Bresler is a historic ice cream brand with a complex international lineage. It originally began in the United States in 1927 as 'Bresler’s 33 Flavors,' founded by William J. Bresler in Chicago. In Chile, the brand was established in 1962 and later acquired by the British-Dutch multinational Unilever in 1993. Under Unilever, Bresler became part of the 'Heartbrand' global network, sharing its iconic heart logo with other famous brands like Wall's, Langnese, and Kibon.

In July 2020, as part of a strategic shift, Unilever sold its ice cream business in Chile to the Chilean food conglomerate Empresas Carozzi S.A. This acquisition included the Bresler and Melevi brands, as well as the manufacturing assets and a license to produce and sell Unilever's global brands (such as Magnum and Cornetto) within Chile. Consequently, while the brand name has American roots and was long managed by a European multinational, it is now owned and manufactured by a Chilean company.
