Grido ice cream

Grido, officially known as Grido Helado, is a major Argentine ice cream chain and brand. It was founded in 2000 in the city of Córdoba, Argentina, by Oscar Santiago and his sons (Sebastián, Lucas, and Celeste). The brand was born from the family's long history in the ice cream industry, tracing back to the 1920s when Lucas Santiago distributed the 'Laponia' brand. The Santiago family previously operated an artisanal parlor named 'Marvic' before launching Grido with a focus on affordable, mass-produced ice cream accessible to a wider demographic.

Today, the brand is owned and managed by Helacor S.A., a private Argentine company controlled by the Santiago family. Grido has grown into one of the largest ice cream chains in the world by number of parlors, operating over 1,900 franchises across Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Peru. Its primary manufacturing hub is located in Ferreyra, Córdoba, Argentina, which is one of the largest and most technologically advanced ice cream plants in South America. The company also markets frozen foods under the subsidiary brand Frizzio.
