Historically, Pieps was part of the Seidel Group before being acquired by Black Diamond, Inc. (later Clarus Corporation) in 2012. However, following a series of strategic reviews and product recalls, Clarus Corporation completed the sale of the Pieps brand and its associated JetForce intellectual property to a private investment firm in July 2025. Today, Pieps continues to operate with a focus on high-performance alpine safety, maintaining its primary research, development, and manufacturing roots in Austria to ensure technical precision for professional and recreational mountain athletes.
