Yamaha guitars are produced by the Yamaha Corporation, a global leader in musical instrument manufacturing. The brand's history dates back to 1887 when Torakusu Yamaha repaired a broken reed organ and eventually founded Nippon Gakki Co., Ltd. in Hamamatsu, Japan. The iconic 'tuning fork' logo seen on the headstock reflects this musical heritage, representing the harmony between technology, production, and sales.

While the brand is deeply rooted in Japan, manufacturing occurs in several countries to serve different market segments. High-end and 'Red Label' series instruments are typically handcrafted in Japan at facilities like the Tenryu Custom Shop. Mid-range and entry-level models are primarily manufactured in Indonesia and China, where Yamaha operates its own state-of-the-art factories to maintain strict quality control. Historically, significant production also took place in Taiwan.

Today, Yamaha Corporation remains an independent Japanese entity and the world's largest manufacturer of musical instruments. Although Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. shares the same name and origin, it was spun off as a separate company in 1955. The musical instrument division continues to be headquartered in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, Japan, overseeing a global network of subsidiaries and distributors.
