Siro is a well-established Spanish brand specialized in the production of biscuits, cereals, and pasta. Originally founded in 1991, the brand became a cornerstone of the Spanish food industry, particularly through its long-standing partnership with the supermarket giant Mercadona, where it serves as a primary supplier for private-label goods. The product shown in the image is manufactured by Cerealto Siro Foods S.L. at their facility in Venta de Baños (Palencia), Spain.
In recent years, the company underwent a significant ownership transition. After facing financial challenges, a majority stake in Cerealto Siro Foods was acquired in 2022 by two private equity firms: Davidson Kempner Capital Management (based in the USA) and Afendis Capital Management (based in Turkey). This investment was aimed at restructuring the business and securing its future as a major global co-manufacturer. As of 2026, the company continues to operate under this international ownership while maintaining its deep industrial roots in the Castilla y León region of Spain.
