Moncler luxury outerwear

Moncler is a world-renowned luxury fashion house best known for its high-performance down jackets and athletic-inspired outerwear. Founded in 1952 in Monestier-de-Clermont, France, by René Ramillon and André Vincent, the brand initially specialized in sleeping bags and technical gear for mountain expeditions. Its transformation into a global luxury icon began after it was acquired by Italian entrepreneur Remo Ruffini in 2003, who shifted the focus towards fashion-forward designs and premium boutiques.

While the brand has French origins, Moncler is now very much an Italian-driven enterprise headquartered in Milan. Manufacturing is primarily concentrated in Eastern Europe, particularly in its owned production site in Romania, though specialized items and leather goods continue to be made in Italy and other regions. Today, Moncler S.p.A. is a publicly traded entity and the ultimate owner of both the Moncler brand and Stone Island, cementing its position as a major player in the global luxury market.
