HAK is a staple Dutch brand with roots dating back to 1952, when the Hak family first began producing preserved vegetables in Giessen, North Brabant. The brand is deeply integrated into the local agricultural landscape, sourcing approximately 85% of its vegetables and legumes from farmers located within a 125-kilometer radius of its primary production facility in Giessen.

In recent years, the brand has undergone significant changes in ownership. In 2021, HAK was acquired by the KDV Group, a major international food producer originally founded in Russia. However, following the geopolitical shifts in 2022, HAK's parent company, Neerlands Glorie Groente & Fruit, was moved under a new international holding company called Flexway. Based in the United Arab Emirates, Flexway serves as the ultimate parent organization, though HAK continues to operate as an autonomous Dutch entity with its own management and local production focus.
