The brand was developed to provide high-quality, value-driven consumer electronics and accessories across the Scandinavian market, specifically for the Power (formerly Expert) and Punkt1 retail chains.

The product, an LED Ring Light designed for photography and content creation, is originally a concept from Norway, where Power International is headquartered. Like many private-label electronics brands, production is outsourced to specialized manufacturing facilities in China to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining Nordic quality standards.

Power International AS, owned by AWILHELMSEN AS and the Dolphin Group, continues to expand the Dacota brand as a cornerstone of its in-house portfolio, offering a wide range of computer accessories, lighting, and household electronics throughout Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Sweden.
