Lakrids by Bülow is a premium Danish confectionery brand renowned for its gourmet liquorice coated in chocolate. Founded by Johan Bülow in 2007 on the island of Bornholm, the company transformed a traditional Scandinavian treat into a luxury experience. Today, all production remains centralized in a state-of-the-art factory located in Hvidovre, near Copenhagen, ensuring high-quality standards and craftsmanship.

In late 2025, the brand underwent a significant ownership transition when the Swedish private equity firm Valedo Partners, which had held a majority stake since 2016, sold its shares to IDG Capital. This move, finalized in November 2025, was designed to leverage IDG Capital's global expertise to further expand the brand's footprint in international markets like the United States and Asia. Despite the sale, the brand maintains its deep Danish heritage and B Corp certification, reflecting its commitment to sustainability and artisanal quality.
