The Discmania DD2 featured in the image is a high-performance distance driver belonging to the brand's 'Originals' line. Originally founded in Finland in 2006 by Jussi Meresmaa, Discmania has evolved from a brand that outsourced its manufacturing to other industry giants into one with its own dedicated production capabilities. While early versions of their discs were manufactured in the United States by Innova Champion Discs, the modern C-Line series is produced in Sweden. This manufacturing takes place in a state-of-the-art facility in Skellefteå, often in close collaboration with the technical experts at Latitude 64.
In a landmark move for the disc golf industry in 2023, Discmania was acquired by House of Discs, a powerful global conglomerate backed by private equity. This acquisition brought Discmania under the same corporate umbrella as other major brands like Latitude 64, Dynamic Discs, and Kastaplast. Today, Discmania continues to operate as an independent brand with its own unique identity and design philosophy, while benefiting from the shared resources and manufacturing excellence of its Swedish-based parent group. The brand remains headquartered in Wellington, Colorado, for its North American operations, while its European heart remains firmly in the Nordic region.
