Alesto is a prominent private-label brand owned by the German retail giant Lidl. The brand was established to provide a wide variety of high-quality snack options, including nuts, dried fruits, and seeds, at competitive supermarket prices. While the brand itself originated in Germany as part of Lidl's internal product development strategy, the actual sourcing and manufacturing of its products occur globally.
Because Alesto products involve agricultural commodities like walnuts, cashews, and almonds, the raw materials are harvested from different continents depending on the season and crop availability. These products are then processed and packaged by various third-party suppliers or through Schwarz Produktion, a sister company of Lidl specialized in manufacturing private-label goods. Ownership of the brand lies with Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG, which is a subsidiary of the Schwarz Group, one of the largest retailers in the world.
