Salomon jacket

Salomon is an iconic outdoor sports brand founded in 1947 in Annecy, France, by François Salomon. Originally a workshop for ski edges and saw blades, the brand revolutionized the industry with the introduction of the first modern ski bindings and later expanded into footwear and technical apparel. Today, Salomon is recognized globally for its high-performance gear tailored for trail running, hiking, and skiing.

While the brand maintains its creative and design heart at the Annecy Design Center in the French Alps, its manufacturing is distributed globally. Most apparel and footwear products are manufactured in countries like Vietnam, China, and Cambodia, though the brand has recently established the 'Advanced Shoe Factory 4.0' in France for local high-end production. Since 2005, Salomon has been a key subsidiary of Amer Sports, which was acquired in 2019 by a consortium led by the Chinese sportswear giant Anta Sports. Amer Sports remains the direct parent company, headquartered in Finland, while Anta Sports serves as the ultimate owner.
