Sanex is a well-known personal care brand that focuses on skin health and dermatological care. Originally launched in 1984 by the Sara Lee Corporation in Spain, the brand quickly became a leader in the European market for its soap-free body cleansers. The brand's philosophy centers on maintaining the natural pH balance of the skin and scalp, a legacy that continues with products like the Anti-Skæl (Anti-Dandruff) shampoo shown here.

Over the years, the brand has changed hands through major corporate acquisitions. In 2009, Unilever acquired the brand as part of a larger deal with Sara Lee. However, due to antitrust regulations within the European Economic Area, Unilever was required to divest Sanex. In 2011, the American multinational Colgate-Palmolive acquired Sanex for approximately $940 million. Today, Sanex remains a core part of Colgate-Palmolive's personal care portfolio, maintaining its strong presence in Europe and South Africa.

Manufacturing for Sanex products is distributed across several European locations to serve different markets efficiently. Common production sites include Poland (Swidnica) and Italy. While the brand has a strong European heritage, its ultimate ownership and strategic direction are managed from the United States by Colgate-Palmolive.
