Voltaren Forte 23.2 mg/g gel

Voltaren is a globally recognized brand for topical pain relief, famously known for its active ingredient diclofenac. The brand was originally launched in 1974 by the Swiss company Geigy (later Ciba-Geigy, then Novartis). It has a long history of corporate ownership transitions, evolving from a pharmaceutical prescription drug to a widely available over-the-counter (OTC) treatment.

In 2015, Novartis and GSK formed a consumer healthcare joint venture, which included the Voltaren brand. Following the full buyout of Novartis' stake in 2018 and a subsequent joint venture with Pfizer, the consumer healthcare division was eventually spun off in July 2022 to form a new, independent company called Haleon. Today, Haleon is the ultimate owner of the Voltaren brand, managing its global distribution and production. While manufacturing occurs in several regions to serve local markets, a significant portion of the supply for the European market, including the 'Forte' gel variant, is produced in Germany.
