Millet Hike Up Gore-Tex shoe

Millet is a prestigious French manufacturer of high-performance outdoor and mountaineering equipment. Founded in 1921 by Marc and Hermance Millet in Saint-Fons, France, the company gained fame for its technical backpacks and later expanded into specialized apparel and footwear. The brand is deeply rooted in the French Alps, having relocated its headquarters to Annecy in 1929 and maintained close ties with the legendary Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix.

After being owned by the Lafuma Group and later the Swiss Calida Group, the Millet Mountain Group returned to its heritage in 2022. It was acquired by Jean-Pierre Millet, the grandson of the original founders, in partnership with the private equity firm Inspiring Sport Capital. Today, while technical design and prototyping are still conducted in France, mass production of footwear like the Hike Up series is primarily located in Vietnam to leverage advanced manufacturing capabilities in the region.
