The brand was established in 1920 by Alice and Cesare Prada in Trento, originally starting as a small family-run confectionery shop. These cookies, known as 'Cuori del Trentino' (Hearts of Trentino), are celebrated for their artisanal production and traditional recipe that has been preserved for over a century.

The manufacturing process still takes place in Trento, Italy, adhering to slow-baking methods and bronze-die shaping to maintain their characteristic texture. Today, the brand is managed by the third generation of the Prada family through the company Prada Biscotti S.r.l. While it shares a famous name, this brand is an independent historic food producer and is not affiliated with the global luxury fashion house Prada S.p.A.
