As a private-label brand, Denner is deeply rooted in the Swiss retail landscape. Originally founded in 1860, the company became a pioneer in the discount sector under the leadership of Karl Schweri. In 2007, the Federation of Migros Cooperatives (Migros) acquired a majority stake in Denner, effectively becoming its ultimate owner. Today, Denner operates as an independent subsidiary within the Migros Group, maintaining its distinct discount positioning and branding while benefiting from the group's extensive logistical and supply chain infrastructure.
