Fanatics is the official outfitter of the National Hockey League (NHL), a partnership that expanded significantly for the 2024-25 season. The manufacturing of these jerseys is bifurcated based on the specific product line. The 'Authentic Pro' jerseys, which are the exact models worn by players on the ice, are manufactured by SP Apparel in a specialized factory located in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada. This facility has a long-standing history of producing high-performance uniforms for the league.
In contrast, replica and fan-focused lines like the 'Breakaway' or 'Premium' jerseys are often produced in other global manufacturing hubs. Fanatics maintains a vertically integrated supply chain with domestic facilities in the United States—specifically in Florida, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania—as well as international partners to meet the high demand of retail fans worldwide.
Originally founded in 1995 as a small retail shop in Jacksonville, Florida, by brothers Alan and Mitchell Trager, the brand was transformed into a global powerhouse by Michael Rubin. After Rubin's company, GSI Commerce, was acquired by eBay in 2011, he bought back the sports e-commerce portion to form Fanatics, Inc. Today, the brand is the dominant force in licensed sports merchandise, expanding its reach into collectibles, trading cards, and sports gaming.
