Marabou Dubbelnougat

Dubbelnougat is a classic Swedish confectionery product consisting of two distinct layers: a light, smooth almond nougat and a dark, creamy hazelnut nougat. It is produced by the iconic brand Marabou, which has been a staple of the Swedish chocolate market since its founding in 1916. The production of Dubbelnougat primarily takes place at the Marabou factory in Upplands Väsby, Sweden.

The Marabou brand itself has a rich history tied to the Norwegian chocolatier Johan Throne Holst, who established the brand in Sweden when the name of his original Norwegian company, Freia, was unavailable. Over the decades, Marabou evolved from a local favorite to a globally recognized brand under various corporate umbrellas. Since 2012, Marabou and its product line, including Dubbelnougat, have been owned by the American multinational snacking giant Mondelēz International, which manages the brand through its Swedish subsidiary, Mondelēz Sverige AB.
