Zingo is a legendary Swedish carbonated soft drink, best known for its vibrant orange flavor. The brand's history dates back to the early 1950s when it was launched by the Apotekarnes brewery under the name 'Ingo-läsk', named in honor of the famous Swedish boxer Ingemar 'Ingo' Johansson. Following a legal dispute regarding the name, the product was rebranded as Zingo in 1962. During the 1970s, the brand experimented with unique variants such as a chocolate-flavored soda, though it eventually returned to focusing on its classic citrus profiles.
Today, Zingo is produced at the Falkenberg brewery in Sweden. Ownership of the brand shifted through various consolidations of the Swedish beverage industry, moving from Pripps to eventually becoming part of the Carlsberg Group portfolio in 2000. Under the management of Carlsberg Sverige, Zingo remains a staple of Swedish food culture, maintaining its national identity while benefiting from the resources of a global brewing leader.
