The Rapid brand has its roots in Sweden, where it was founded in 1936 under the name Isaberg Rapid. Known for the 'Spirit of Sweden,' the company built a global reputation for high-quality stapling and punching tools. Many of its classic designs, such as the K1 stapling plier, remain industry standards decades after their introduction.

In 2010, the brand became part of Esselte, which was subsequently acquired by ACCO Brands in 2017. Today, Rapid is a key brand in the ACCO Brands portfolio, alongside other well-known names like Leitz and GBC. While the brand maintains a strong Swedish heritage and some production remains in Hestra, Sweden, many of its high-volume desktop products like the FC30 are manufactured in China to global standards.
